The 9th Annual CEO Forum, held on 15-16 November 2005 in Beijing, attracted more than 650 senior business leaders from across China, Asia and the rest of the world. This year's event, the biggest in the 9 year history of The CEO Forum, featured an outstanding line-up of political and business leaders sharing a wealth of experience and insights on the current business challenges facing CEO's. Notable Keynote speakers included: The Honorable Jin Renqing, Minister of Finance, People's Republic of China, H.E Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, President of Timor-Leste, H.E Aburizal Bakrie, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Republic of Indonesia, Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad, Former Prime Minister of Malaysia, The Right Honorable Sir John Major, K.G.,C.H., Former Prime Minister of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and The Honorable George Bush Senior, Former President of the United States.
The format of the dialogue-driven sessions ensured that current topics for businesses wishing to transcend global boundaries were openly discussed. Other critical issues included the importance of securing top-line growth and profitability, creating the winners of tomorrow, and developing and implementing the innovation toolbox, all done whilst balancing uncertainty, power and accountability that goes with the job as a CEO in a global business environment.
